Breathtaking stories, epic battles and memorable heroes. Here're 10 best games based on popular anime franchises.

Not so long ago we made a list of noteworthy jRPG games on PC, and now’s the time to talk about the games based on anime titles. Contrary to what some people might think, we did not get that many titles in recent years, except for a few based on renowned anime franchises (oh yeah, that Naruto and Dragon Ball!). Nonetheless, we managed to dig up some gems worth checking out. Believe it!

In this article you’ll find the most interesting games based anime series available on PC. The fans of fighting games, rejoice, as you’ll find plenty of options for yourself.

Attack on Titan 2 - A.O.T.2

Release Date: March 15, 2018
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia

Attack on Titan, also known as Shingeki no Kyojin, is one of the biggest anime hits in recent years. The development of the game based on this anime series was only a question of time. This game is a sequel of Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom, which was released in 2016. To navigate yourself in the plot, it is worth reaching for both games. However, Attack on Titan 2 has more polished and diverse gameplay.

A.O.T.2 continues the saga of battle between terrifying titans and humanity, which desperately tries to exterminate the creatures. It’s dynamic, emotional, gliding through the air feels amazing and hits the right spot for the anime fans. The fact that you create your own nameless character helps you relieve this breathtaking story from a different angle.

Each of the controlled heroes has its own style and set of skills that will help you win against hordes of demonic opponents.

Action RPG Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is set in the future, where people spend a lot of time playing online games (yup, even more than now). One of the popular games in this setting is Gun Gale Online and that’s where our main characters find themselves.

My Hero Academia is one of the most recent anime titles that took otakus by the storm. The shonen about people with superpowers becoming a common occurrence was destined to become a fighting game, it was just a question of time.

MY HERO ONE'S JUSTICE 2 has everything you’d expect from the arena fights: easy to learn mechanics, variety of unique-looking characters to please MHA fans, colourful and well-done animations, several modes, including two story ones, which presents the plot from hero and villain’s sides.

We’re gently reminding you that the article contains games that are based on manga and anime, not the other way around. This means that the list does not include many excellent anime games, especially visual novels, that came out before anime and/or manga. As there are plenty of gems here, we might create such a top in the future. 🙂

Do you ever play anime games? Which titles made a big impression on you?
