15 best Steam games to buy during Summer Sale 2022

Here are some of the greatest offers during this year’s Summer Sale!

Papa Gabe won’t leave our wallets alone, that’s a fact. So if we’re buying something anyway, why don’t we get the titles that were on our wishlists for ages, or we’ve just noticed them and got interested? πŸ˜‰ You will find even more deals in our other article, Steam Summer Sale is live! However, we wanted to limit ourselves to only 15 in this one - these titles usually don't miss and are insanely cheap during the Sale πŸ˜ƒ

Here are the best Steam Summer Sale 2022 games we recommend buying!

Black Mesa - 75% off

It’s only natural to begin such a list with something close to Valve’s heart, right? Black Mesa is the fan-made remake of the first Half-Life that got permission to appear on Steam. That’s not surprising, though: the game looks phenomenal, has new levels to offer, and is filled with love for the franchise to the brim. How could you not love this much dedication?

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut - 65% off

You’ve definitely heard about this one multiple times. Sure, it’s full of text (and philosophy), decadent and quite depressing. Nonetheless, it’s the extremely compelling story and a nice twist on adventure games (your actions will or won’t succeed depending on what you roll on your dice) that make Disco Elysium a challenging but infinitely rewarding experience.

Don’t Starve Together - 66% off

The original Don’t Starve needed only one thing to be even better: co-op. The sequel to the renowned survival title is as difficult as the first game. You may also stay with permadeath if you’re willing to face an even bigger challenge. Doing all of the tedious tasks to survive, but with the help of someone else? Sounds a lot better, if you ask us.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition - 35% off

Getting to play a late entry in a series you may have never played is normally a bad idea, although trying out this JRPG series is a fantastic alternative to Final Fantasy titles and other games in the genre. Dragon Quest is the one franchise that isn’t revolutionising anything but sticks with mechanics players liked in the past and still appreciate. And you can’t really beat Akira Toriyama’s (the guy who did Dragon Ball) influence on visuals!

Duck Game - 80% off

This game screams retro and is a perfect choice for playing with others – either through Local Multiplayer or via Internet! Imagine the Worms series, but even more dynamic and crazy. You die after one hit, and the only survivor is the winner. Pick up any weapon in your range and go ham! Still, strategic thinking is a way to go here, but you need to decide how to approach the situation very fast.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human - 33% off

The title turned out to be a solid zombie game. Maybe it’s not anything genre-changing, but it still delivers the fast-paced action, parkour and exploration of a big city we’ve been waiting for. Generally speaking, don’t go into Dying Light 2 expecting a touching, engaging story, and you will have lots of fun solely because of phenomenal gameplay.

Elex II - 33% off

The world of the first Elex had potential, which had to be taken advantage of in the sequel. Did it learn the lesson and made the franchise better? The combat is still a little bit stiff, although many players like the plot much more than the one in the first instalment.

As for the exploring, it’s as fun as in any other title made by Piranha Bytes – with a nice touch of blending the future with the past (the dichotomy between more and less technologically-advanced factions). We shouldn’t forget the jetpack, it’s also as cool as we remember it being in the first title.

Grim Dawn Definitive Edition - 62% off

Grim Dawn is the result of the hard work of Crate Entertainment. You end up in Cairn, a world destroyed by a devastating war. You will need to make a tough decision each time you level up: should you utilise your precious points on basic statistics, or maybe your character’s class should take priority?

This is definitely one of the more difficult experiences on this Steam Summer Sale games list, but Titan Quest fans should have absolutely no problem with this fact 😊 The Definitive Edition contains the base game and both DLCs, Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods.

Half-Life: Alyx - 50% off

Hey, some of you might have bought a VR headset recently and wonder if Alyx is really the staple everyone makes it to be. It’s not exactly the Half-Life 3 we’ve been waiting for, but we can't say it’s not a good try from Valve’s side. After all, the game has a good plot and makes excellent use of VR features.

Virtual Reality usually meets with conventionality, as there’s only so much you can do in terms of controls. Somehow, Alyx manages to make the idea exciting again. If you’ve got your hands on a Quest, Index or any other VR device, think no further!

Red Dead Redemption II - 50% off

Rockstar outdid themselves with this one, silencing those who thought of this series as “GTA on Wild West”. There’s a lot more to it – the title’s world feels genuinely alive with not only other people around but all of the animals, plants and locations untouched by humans. Frankly, the attention to detail is unbelievable here.

We expected a solid plot, although it’s only enhanced by a wonderful cast of characters, naturally including the main protagonist, Arthur Morgan. If you’re worried there aren’t any Westerns made anymore, one of the best examples just so happens to be a video game.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 50% off

Sekiro may not be the first FromSoftware experience one would pick up from a virtual shelf (especially in the presence of Elden Ring), although it was the title that collected the usual story bits into one complete revenge story. You will have to learn to parry here; otherwise, winning against not only multiple bosses but also regular opponents will be a real hassle.

You’re equipped with a cool grappling hook to travel through the beautiful locations faster and upgrade your hand denture (as some mean samurai cut your hand off) to be even more efficient in battle. A soulslike set in Sengoku-era Japan? It really works.

Syberia: The World Before - 38% off

Contrary to Syberia 3, this game somehow escaped a flood of bugs and is good to go – setting out on the last adventure thought by Benoit Sokal is something truly worth experiencing.

This time around, we have two main heroines: Kate Walker returns “accompanied” by a woman named Daha Roze, who experienced her journey back in the 1930s. The gameplay shifts from both characters, and both counterparts offer what we love the series for: steampunk, breathtaking locations, witty puzzles and an exciting story.

The Forest - 75% off

There are quite a few survival titles among Steam Summer Sale games – although this one is kinda special. Camping in a forest is something most of us have done at some point. On the other hand, none of us (hopefully) had to deal with mutants in the woods. Surviving their attacks will be only one of your problems: after all, gathering food and other supplies is also part of it. Stay safe!

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe - 33% off

If you’ve been waiting for an extraordinary title (in this case, it’s more of an experience), here you have it. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is an adventure game in which the narrator has a more significant role than usual. You can say he's controlling the situation, as during narrating Stanley’s day at the office, he “advises” the protagonist to do what he says.

He might suggest picking the door he finds better, a route you shouldn’t pick, and will try to influence many other of your actions. Will you listen to the narrator, or do you prefer to do things your way?

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands - 20% off

It’s Tina’s debut on Steam, so you know Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands had to be mentioned here! The game is a unique D&D session held by no other than Tina herself. As she’s the GM, what occurs during the session can get quite weird at times: don’t be too surprised with a sudden change of setting, you will get used to it πŸ˜‰

In celebration of the title’s premiere on Valve's platform, it’s available at a special launch price as well!

There are many more insane discounts on Steam right now, so don’t worry if you can't see a title you wanted to grab the most – quite likely, it’s also discounted.
