Recent rumors confirmed! Assassin's Creed Mirage is the next game in the series!
A few days ago, there were leaks about the supposed next installment of the Ubisoft series, published by a French YouTuber, j0nathan. He revealed that Assassin's Creed Mirage, heavily inspired by the first entry in the franchise, would be released in Spring 2023. It would go back to the roots of assassin's saga with a lack of RPG elements, such as leveling system and gender choice, that are included in the recent games. Moreover, it would be set in Bagdad during extreme internal instability from 861 to 870 in the Abbasid caliphate.
YouTuber also hinted that assets created for Mirage would be used to remake the first Assassin's Creed, which would be included in Season Pass of the newest installment along with other DLCs.
As of September 1, 2022, the Assassin's Creed Mirage has been officially announced on Ubisoft's Twitter.
The developers decided to share more information about Mirage at Ubisoft Forward, the live stream event featuring news about upcoming games from the studio. That's truly exciting news, considering how different this title might be from Valhalla. Another formula change might be a good thing, as assassins' adventures tend to get stale after a while, and who knows how Ubisoft will surprise us.
