With Activision being acquired by Microsoft, will Call of Duty games come back on Steam?
UPDATE: We can now say it officially - yes, CoD will return to Valve's platform! 😉
It is no secret that the PC gamers of the renowned CoD series are currently available exclusively on Battle.net. Even if other stores are selling keys to one of the titles, it'd be 100% Battle.net key. However, the wind of change started howling for the first time since the news about Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard.
Some eagle-eyed users have noticed a particular image of Valve's platform, which looks suspiciously familiar. It is an artwork for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on Steam! You can see it for yourself by comparing the photo from the game card page on GG.deals and the leaked image.
This gossip may seem somewhat surprising but bear in mind that Microsoft, which purchased the CoD publisher, has all of its games available on Valve's store. Therefore, Call of Duty appearing on Steam was merely a question of time. But who could've known that it'll take place so soon?
At the moment, there is no information on CoD: Modern Warfare II price or distribution. Nevertheless, if it appears in the most popular store, there is an excellent chance that other official sellers and even keyshops will be selling the game. As a result, you might be able to buy it for a significantly lower price than the previous installments, making our price alert tool especially useful for you.
