The title is going to be re-released in a new revisited and final version soon.
Yesterday, the game creators announced the end of its relationship with Square Enix. As a result, the developers plan to release their shooter's final edition under a new title, BATTALION: Legacy. It will take the best aspects of Battalion 1944 and focus on delivering a bug-free experience. The new version will feature a working server browser, a new British faction, new weapons, and much more.
BATTALION: Legacy is set to launch on August 16th, 2022.
BATTALION 1944 is a multiplayer shooter set during World War 2. The game focuses primarily on 5v5 infantry combat, trying to recapture the core of classic competitive shooters and refining the original FPS feel.
For the time being, you can still buy it on Steam. There are no mentions about any in-game goodies or bonuses being given away to the current BATTALION 1994 owners after the free-to-play transition. We will update the article as soon as the situation changes.
