The Onryō: A New Stealth Killer

Embrace fear with The Onryō, also known as Sadako, a new Killer possessing immense power born from a watery grave. Her wrath manifests as a cursed videotape, condemning viewers to a terrifying fate. Use her powers of stealth and teleportation to catch survivors unaware.

The Onryō's Power: Deluge of Fear

Sadako starts each trial Undetectable and nearly invisible. As Survivors approach, her presence flickers, revealing her intermittently. She can then Manifest into a corporeal form, appearing fully visible before unleashing her killing strikes. Master the art of stealth as part of your horror game strategy!

Utilize the environment by Projecting through TVs scattered throughout the map. Teleporting through these TVs increases the Condemned progress of nearby Survivors. A fully Condemned Survivor can be instantly killed once downed, creating a terrifying new win condition. Survivors can remove tapes from TVs to slow Sadako's projection, but doing so increases their own Condemned level, leading to tense risk-reward choices. This mechanic adds a strategic element to the survival horror gameplay.

The Onryō brings 3 new perks to Dead by Daylight:

Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage

Start the trial with up to four Scourge Hooks. Rescuing a Survivor from a Scourge Hook reveals the aura of all other Survivors briefly.

Call of Brine

Kicking a generator highlights its aura and increases its regression speed. A Good Skill Check on the generator grants the Killer a loud noise notification.

Merciless Storm

Nearing completion, a generator triggers a series of Skill Checks for Survivors repairing it. Missing or stopping repairs will block the generator temporarily, creating intense pressure.

Yoichi Asakawa: A New Survivor

From tragedy emerges hope. Yoichi Asakawa experienced Sadako's fury as a child. Now, a marine biologist, Yoichi continues his search for answers, venturing into a realm beyond understanding. Play as a survivor in the intense asymmetrical horror experience and try to stay alive!

Parental Guidance

Stunning the Killer hides your scratch marks, blood pools, and grunts of pain for a short duration.

Empathic Connection

When another Survivor is injured, they see your aura, and you heal teammates faster. It's vital to form these connections in this multiplayer horror game.

Boon: Dark Theory

Bless a Dull or Hex Totem to create a Boon Totem, granting a movement speed boost to Survivors within its range. The boost persists briefly after leaving the aura.

Exclusive Chapter Item: Cursed Videotape

The Sadako Rising chapter includes the exclusive universal charm: Cursed Videotape, a haunting reminder of the horrors within. This item is only available as part of the DLC and cannot be purchased separately.
