Backstory

In 1695, Elizabeth Ainsley was falsely accused of witchcraft, betrayed by Reverend James Beaumont, the one person she trusted. Little did he know the unspeakable terror he was about to unleash upon the unsuspecting town of Shady Hollow.

Centuries later, in the late 1970s, Cliff Beaumont resurrected his father's defunct mining company. But tragedy struck months after the reopening: his daughter, Sally, vanished without a trace. Despite an exhaustive search of the woods and coal mines, the townspeople found only a single shoe belonging to Sally near Hollow Creek. Some whispered of drowning, while others blamed the curse of the Hollow Creek Witch.

A year later, Cliff and Linda Beaumont succumbed to a mysterious illness, dying soon after each other. Rumor had it that the loss of their daughter proved too much to bear. John, the last surviving Beaumont, was sent to an orphanage.

John spent his adolescence at the orphanage, until he escaped shortly after his 18th birthday. He murdered several employees and vanished into the night, never to be seen again.
