The Cretas soon discovered that the Temporal Net possessed even greater potential. Scientists unlocked the ability to use it for transitioning into a metaphysical form of existence. The Cretas embraced the idea of becoming free, disembodied minds in harmony with the universe, leading to the widespread adoption of anima-transfer. Eventually, the entire race vanished from the observable universe, leaving behind only ruins on desolate planets and an unstable Temporal Net.

Without the Cretas' guidance, the Temporal Net began malfunctioning, opening random portals across various worlds. Travelers could easily enter, but escaping became nearly impossible.
