Hear the Void is an intense online multiplayer horror-arena game for 1–8 players that masterfully blends the eerie, unsettling atmosphere of the Backrooms with the drowning dread of poolcore aesthetics. Forget traditional monsters; in this game, your greatest threat is your competition. You are the monster that other players hunt, and they are hiding in plain sight.

Trapped within a sprawling, ever-changing labyrinth of endless hallways and liminal swimming pools, every player is permanently invisible. Sight will not save you here. To survive, you must master the art of auditory survival, as sound is the only thing that can betray your location.

🎧 Core Gameplay: Hunt by Ear, Kill in the Dark

• Stillness means survival: Remain perfectly motionless to blend into the environment, becoming completely transparent and silent.
• Movement exposes your position: Walking through shallow water creates visible ripples, while dry land records brief footprints. Sprinting is risky, as it generates loud footsteps, leaves a visible wake, and forces your silhouette to flash for 0.5 seconds.
• The Heartbeat Lock: When you track an enemy within a 5-meter radius, a blue pulse appears. Charge your attack for 1.5 seconds to unleash a catastrophic sonic wave, erasing the target from reality if your aim is true.
• The Hold Breath Counter: Caught in an attacker’s crosshairs? Press Q to Hold Breath and freeze. This breaks the lock, forces the attacker to miss, and briefly illuminates their position as a reward for your icy nerves.

🌊 Environment as a Weapon: Backrooms Meets Poolcore

• Dynamic Water Physics: Sprinting in shallow water creates a loud splash. While deep water allows for travel through shortcuts and better loot collection, it also prohibits attacking and forces you to move slowly.
• Drain Alerts: Every two minutes, an alarm sounds and the tide rolls out. Exposed players forced onto dry land will cough, instantly betraying their coordinates to nearby predators.
• Stroboscopic Stealth: When the lights flicker out for 3 seconds, you become silent while running, but your eyes glow a distinct red. In this game, you must learn when to see and when to listen.

🏆 Victory: The Reality Fragment Race

To win, you must either eliminate all other hunters or secure three Reality Fragments and reach a randomized extraction point. Note that carrying these fragments comes at a steep price: your footsteps emit a loud tolling bell sound, and your movement speed is penalized by 10%. Will you play the role of the objective-runner, or drop the loot to ambush those who hunt the fragments?

👻 Wanderer Mode: Death Is Only the Beginning

Even eliminated players remain active as Wanderers. These invisible ghosts use environmental trickery, such as tapping walls or creating fake ripples, to manipulate the remaining survivors. Successfully tricking a player into making a fatal mistake allows the Wanderer to possess their body and respawn in the match.
