Solar Showdown is a 2-player competitive game that cleverly blends the tactical depth of real-time strategy (RTS) with the strategic placement of tower defense. Designed for local multiplayer, it requires 2 controllers for an engaging head-to-head experience. The fast pace and deep strategic options make for intense battles. The ultimate party game to see who can build the most solar powered death machine.

A BYU Center for Animation Capstone Project

This project was conceived, developed, and rigorously tested over the course of a year, a testament to the dedication of student work. We are immensely proud of what we accomplished within that timeframe. However, please understand that Solar Showdown, while functional, represents a capstone project and not a fully polished, complete game. Due to the academic nature of the project, many of the students who contributed have since moved on to other endeavors, potentially limiting future updates or feature additions.

While this release showcases the core competitive mechanics and tower defense gameplay features we aimed to create, it is possible that the game contains bugs, optimization limitations, and other issues that may affect the overall player experience.
