Command 62 different countries across a vast map, featuring a hex-based grid with each hex representing 50 miles (80km). The game incorporates a modified Mercator map scaling for smooth gameplay without overwhelming the player. Land combat involves units of 15,000 to 60,000 men, air warfare manages squadrons of 300-400 aircraft, and naval dominance hinges on individual capital ships and their support fleets.

Dynamic Map and Strategic Depth

The hex-based map features 15 distinct terrain types, each impacting motorized and non-motorized movement, airfield capacity, and defensive bonuses. Exploit 12 different resource types and 5 strategic resources across realistically rendered cities. The inclusion of Fog of War adds an element of realism, influencing unit detection levels and strategic decision-making. Navigate 5 weather conditions that affect gameplay, and utilize communications intelligence to enhance naval operations in the Pacific theatre.

Employ air power to strike selected targets, support land operations, attack supply convoys, and defend your own. Command fleets in fleet and raider modes, impacting detection and naval engagements. Experience night action, surface combat, pursuit maneuvers, submarine warfare, sub hunter tactics, and carrier combat. Utilize the Zone of Control to strategically restrict enemy land formations.

Manage 22 distinct unit types with 15 different attributes, research 17 technological advancements, and specialize in 14 different areas. Each nation boasts unique units with distinct attributes. Terrain plays a vital role in the attack and defense modifiers; learn to master combined arms (air and land units working together), take account of naval bombardment, and exploit terrain advantages.

Units are affected by Breakdown and Formation mechanics, allowing for tactical flexibility. Employ Generals to influence combat, mobile attacks, and retreats. The game engine includes a diplomacy mechanic, though it's disabled at the scenario level for the Pacific Theatre.
