Synopsis

Set during the Cold War, The Outlast Trials plunges you into the nightmarish world of human experimentation. As unwilling participants, you're subjected to brainwashing and mind control techniques by the Murkoff Corporation. In a landscape rife with paranoia, fear, and relentless violence, your sanity, morals, and endurance will be pushed to their breaking points. Experience the true meaning of terror.

Survive: Solo or Co-op

Trapped within Murkoff's sinister facility, you can choose to confront the trials alone or team up with 2-4 players. While cooperative gameplay isn't mandatory for every objective, working together offers a significant advantage in surviving the horrors that await. In The Outlast Trials, teamwork and strategy are key to escape.

Your ultimate goal is to endure Murkoff's excruciating therapy and earn your release back into society. This requires completing both immersive, story-driven Trials and shorter, intense MK-Challenges set within familiar, but terrifyingly redesigned locations.

Hide or Flight: Stealth Action Horror

Staying true to the Outlast legacy, the core gameplay emphasizes stealth horror. You must evade relentless enemies, find places to hide, and run for your life. You always need a strategy. Murkoff provides tools to enhance your stealth, create escape opportunities, and hinder your pursuers. Acquire and upgrade these tools to increase your chances of survival. With these tools you will be able to:

• Stun enemies
• Blind them
• See through walls
• Heal yourself and people around you.

Customize your character to the hilt, and add some personality to each trial, and MK challenge.

Investigate

As a victim of Murkoff's unethical experiments, your mind and behavior will be systematically altered throughout the Trials. Uncover the truth by collecting hidden documents and items that expose Murkoff's malpractice against its patients. Investigating will help you discover the horrific process:

• Break the Self: Murkoff destroys a test subject's fundamental beliefs through psychological manipulation and attacks on their identity.
• Build the Self: Exploiting the void created, Murkoff introduces a new, twisted ideology, offering temporary kindness to lure the subject.
• Salvation: The subject fully embraces the new ideology, shedding their past and undergoing a disturbing rebirth within Murkoff's system. The subject is now broken forever.
