This captivating new route from Union Workshop presents a fictionalized rendition of the Furusato Ginga Line, reimagined as the 'Matsuhara Line' with altered station names and fictional towns. Experience the charm of a bygone era as you traverse this meticulously crafted environment.
Originally constructed in the late 1890s, the line connected Matsuhara with Asashikawa Forest, primarily serving the local forestry industry for timber transport. In 1912, scheduled passenger services were introduced, coinciding with the growing population attracted by the burgeoning forestry sector. Now you can recreate those moments with precise train controls and realistic physics.
Following World War II, the decline of logging camps led to reduced traffic, resulting in the closure of some sections in the 1960s. However, the late 1990s witnessed a resurgence as tourism spurred the revival of passenger services after acquisition by a local entrepreneur. This rail simulation offers a unique glimpse into the history and resurgence of the Matsuhara Line.
The real-life Furusato Ginga Line, last operated by the Hokkaido Chihoku Kōgen Railway Company until 2006 offers inspiration for this fascinating route. This add-on gives you ability to explore the heart of this line's history through your PC.
Featuring custom-built Japanese buildings, intricate trackside details, prototypical signalling systems, and 15 stations along its main and branch lines, The Story of Forest Rail injects a distinctive atmosphere into Train Simulator.
