What are Steam Workshop games?

When a game is released and it supports mods, its creators can tie it to Workshop. You can easily see if a title is connected to it: there is a “Steam Workshop” button next to other game feature buttons like “Single-player” or “Stats”. If there’s no button, this means that, sadly, the title you’ve chosen doesn’t support Workshop. 

You can click on the said button or access Workshop via the “Community” page, clicking on a right button in a drop-down list. You’ll access the Workshop page. You can filter games with Steam Workshop the same way you’d do it with other products on the platform, narrowing it down to your liking.

As most of the mods there are free, it is an open field to discover. Just click “Subscribe” next to the mod you want to add to your title and you can see the results of someone’s effort! Games with Steam Workshop

What comes to mind when you think of a video game with a ton of mods? Yes, it is Skyrim. Some can’t imagine playing this title without any mods and, with how many there are, we can’t really blame them. There are currently no additions to this epic RPG that you have to pay for Workshop, making it the only way of exploring the legendary sceneries! Some of them are bigger, some are only cosmetic, yet all contribute to making the adventure of Dragonborn even more magical than it was at the very beginning.

On a side note: The Forgotten City, which is now a standalone game, used to be a mod to the aforementioned title and evolved into a full-fledged product. This is what we meant when we talked about “passion projects”. You can still subscribe to the original mod, if you’d like. Also, you should check out other additions to the biggest Steam Workshop title that Skyrim is in terms of the number of mods you can grab. Just remember to save some space on your HDD/SSD.

The other game that we would like to mention is Euro Truck Simulator 2. When you think about it, it’s quite a reasonable choice. The title itself has so much official content added to it and, if creators really want to, you could design all the places in the world that you could drive to (and deliver some goods, obviously) and practically any object that will make you appreciate the life of a truck driver even more.

It’s one of the most popular Steam games with best Workshop not only because there is so much to choose from. The fact that you can create literally anything contributes massively: from gas stations, real buildings, new trucks or… more realistic city lighting. You get the idea of “anything” now. These were only two examples of the best Steam Workshop games and there is still so much more to see.
