The Aerotrain was conceived as a cost-effective and modern alternative to traditional passenger trains. Powered by a distinctive LWT12 locomotive featuring a robust EMD 567-series 1,200-horsepower diesel engine, this diesel locomotive simulation is both powerful and visually striking. The streamlined passenger coaches, inspired by intercity bus designs, offer a unique passenger experience within the Train Simulator world.

Initially a demonstrator for railroads across the United States, this classic train simulation allows you to recreate historic runs on routes like the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). General Motors originally assembled a pair of 10-car Aerotrain demonstrators in 1955. The Pennsylvania Railroad then leased one Aerotrain and utilized it as a nine-car train in New York-Philadelphia-Pittsburgh service, while the second Aerotrain undertook a barnstorming tour that included working on U.S. railroads such as the Santa Fe and Union Pacific.

Brought to life in Train Simulator by DTM, this add-on features an authentically reproduced Aerotrain, complete with the LWT12 locomotive, passenger coach, and coach-observation car.
