This meticulously crafted DLC brings the iconic ÖBB 1044 electric locomotive to your train simulation experience. Built in the mid-1970s by ELIN, Siemens Mobility, Brown, Boveri & Cie., and Simmering-Graz-Pauker, the ÖBB 1044 was designed to conquer Austria's demanding rail network. From hauling heavy freight through challenging mountain passes to managing bustling passenger services in thriving cities, this locomotive did it all.

The ÖBB 1044 quickly became the backbone of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) fleet, a position it held until the turn of the 21st century. This legendary locomotive boasted impressive 6,710 hp motors, delivering over 200 kN of tractive effort, making it one of the most powerful 4-axle electric locomotives of its time. Further enhanced with modifications for harsh winter conditions, the ÖBB 1044 was a true workhorse, ensuring reliable service across the entire network. While eventually superseded by Siemens EuroSprinter locomotives, the ÖBB 1044 wasn't destined for the scrapyard. Instead, many were converted into ÖBB 1144 locomotives for regional push-pull services. The legacy of the ÖBB 1044 lives on, not only through the 1144s but also with a preserved prototype at the Railway Museum in Strasshof since 2002. Now you can preserve that history in your virtual railway.

This add-on for Train Simulator features both the old and new ÖBB logo designs and also includes Hbbills freight wagons, adding to the authenticity and variety of your railroad simulation.
