Understanding Deadlock: The Core Concept

DeadLock isn't just a game; it's a representation of a real-world problem in computer science! Inspired by the "deadlock" phenomenon in computer systems, the game challenges you to understand how processors require specific resources and how resource contention can lead to system failure. Every processor requires its requested resources and won’t relinquish resources until completing its execution. When multiple processors become mutually dependent, waiting for resources held by each other, a deadlock occurs, halting all processes.

Controls:

Click on a processor (circle) to reveal the color-coded resources (squares) it requires. Drag from the processor to the corresponding resource to establish a connection. Use these controls to command processing tasks effectively avoiding a standstill and achieve the best configuration.
