Experience everything from fire safety training to urban navigation, all within engaging and interactive virtual environments. Contribute to cutting-edge research while exploring innovative gameplay mechanics.
Fire Safety Training Simulation: Put Your Extinguishing Skills to the Test
This application assesses the feasibility of VR fire training for homes and rural areas. Learn effective fire extinguishing techniques safely and virtually. Please note: All information is gamified and should NOT be taken as actual safety advice. Content has not been verified by fire services.. This interactive VR training simulation will teach you when and how to properly use four key types of fire extinguishers: Dry Powder, Foam, Water, and Carbon Dioxide.
After mastering the correct procedures, you'll face realistic fire hazards tailored to each extinguisher type, including paper, gas, electrical, and fuel fires. The training culminates in a challenging search and rescue operation within a post-earthquake house. Use your newly acquired knowledge to tackle hazards and dangers effectively. Failure to do so results in a failed simulation. Once you've completed the search and rescue, return to the hub area to view your score.
City Exploration: Compete in a VR Movement Challenge
Challenge other virtual reality users to discover the ultimate movement method for VR games and applications. In the City Exploration experiment, collect as many star objects as possible to help your team compete and score points! Explore a modern city using novel virtual reality interaction and movement techniques.
You'll be assigned to one of three teams, each utilizing a different movement system: trackpad/analog stick movement, quick teleportation, or a novel reference teleportation technique. Represent your team to uncover which method is superior for collecting stars in the shortest time. The results of the competition may contribute to academic research, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each movement style. Replay the experiment as many times as you like; however, data from your initial contribution will only be concidered. The winning team will be revealed on the store page, or through a Steam community forum announcement.
Academic Data Collection and Consent
This product is a framework for academic experiments using virtual reality. In-game data information will be used to analyze games featured in the experiment. By downloading and confirming your consent during initial setup, you are consenting to the use of your anonymous data for academic research. All data gathered will remain anonymous and not be associated with your Steam account, Steam ID or other personnel information. This data will only be accessed by authorized academic investigators and collaborators and strictly limited to usage in academic research, and will not be sold, transferred, or traded to any third-party commercial company or entity.
