The Artistic Vision: True Stop-Motion Gaming

Éalú stands out as a true testament to traditional artistry in the digital age. Every single animation frame was captured using physical sets, hand-crafted props, and a tangible wooden mouse. Over 512 meticulous video clips were created by a single animator, mostly in a garden shed, then painstakingly brought to life in Unity by a dedicated developer. This commitment to artistic handcrafted game design ensures a visually stunning and uniquely tactile experience that sets Éalú apart from other independent puzzle games.

The entire musical score was composed and recorded specifically for Éalú by a single composer, perfectly complementing the wordless narrative. All illustrations were drawn by hand, adding to the game's cohesive and beautiful aesthetic. Born from passion rather than a budget, Éalú is the collaborative effort of four individuals: Ivan Owen (Concept, design, animation & writing), Benjamin Orr (Design, Unity development & writing), Will Wood (Musical composition, performance & recording), and JT Paton (Original illustrations & promotional art).
