The Story Behind the Monsters

The core gameplay of Save All Monsters!, featuring grid-based challenges, time limits, and unique character types, originated in 2014. Originally conceived as a robot-themed project, the concept was revived in 2021 by Albert Espín, who used Unreal Engine and 3D graphics, replacing the robots with the captivating monsters you see today.

Driven by a desire to recapture the engaging gameplay of the initial concept and inspired by Pau Sanchez's web version of the original robot game, Albert refined the game, adding elements like the thief ability and level grid rotations. This collaborative effort resulted in Save All Monsters! which blends intellectual gameplay with imaginative visuals, demonstrating the power of community and creativity in game development.
