Explore New Inner Regions

The Dragon Expansion introduces immersive new mechanics, including two unique Inner Regions: The Dragon Realm and The Dragon Tower. These challenging new areas replace the standard encounters and victory objectives found on the main game board. Before the game begins, you can choose which side of the board to face, each offering distinct obstacles:

The Dragon Realm: This region mirrors the classic board but ramps up the difficulty as the number of dragon scales increases. Here, you abandon the die; instead, you move one space at a time, following the board's instructions until you finally confront the fearsome Dragon King.

The Dragon Tower: A singular, treacherous path leading to the Crown of Command. Characters move along a spiraling staircase by drawing cards from the Dragon King’s Deck. Movement is strictly calculated—one space per turn, plus an additional space for every enemy you defeat.

These regions are not for the faint of heart. Every space demands an encounter, so ensure your character is fully prepared before crossing the Portal of Power.

Master New Mechanics: Dragon Lords, Tokens, and Cards

The three Draconic Lords—Varthrax, Grilipus, and Cadorus—have brought their own dedicated Dragon decks, featuring 56 cards filled with new Events, Enemies, Strangers, Objects, Followers, and Places. While Dragon cards present stronger-than-average enemies, the rewards for success are equally great.

At the start of each turn, players draw a Dragon token to determine the state of the realm. Whether triggering a Dragon Strike, placing a Dragon Slumber token on a nearby threat to neutralize it, or suffering the chaotic effects of Dragon Rage, players must adapt to the shifting power dynamics. By collecting dragon scales from defeated enemies, characters gain powerful combat bonuses and protection against the Lords' piercing Dragon Rage.
