Unravel the Mysteries of a Forgotten Isle

The year is 1666, and after suffering the Great Plague of London, your nightmare has only just begun! You awaken on the shores of Brightfall, a cursed island shrouded in fog and protected by storms, making it the perfect prison for the Crown's unwanted. As a prisoner, you must scavenge, build fortifications, and fight to maintain your sanity as you explore abandoned Celtic ruins, upgrade your character, and craft increasingly powerful light sources to pierce the ever-present darkness.

But beware – the power of light fades, monsters become stronger, and even your closest allies are susceptible to madness in this perilous survival horror game.

The Living Darkness: A Constant Threat

In Brightfall, darkness is more than just the absence of light. It’s a corrupting force that twists the environment, warps reality, and consumes all that is human. Your only defense is light, and every torch offers a precious minute of sanity. Use it wisely to create a safe haven, pushing back the encroaching corruption. The deeper you venture, the more powerful your light must be to survive the horrors that await.

Cooperative Survival or Solitary Struggle: Choose Your Path

Team up with up to four players in this intense co-op survival adventure. Work together to scavenge resources, construct defenses, and share the burden of survival. Or, if you prefer a solo experience, rely on the guidance of a Celtic spirit bound to the light. This spectral companion will assist you, heal your wounds, and warn you of approaching danger, but always remember, in this dark world of roguelike survival, a helping hand from any companion, living or spectral, could save your sanity or your life.

Should one of your allies succumb to the darkness, resurrect them using a Resurrection Token – a spark of the same light that holds the darkness at bay. Lose them all, and the expedition ends! The map collapses, the cycle resets, and the island’s shape changes once more, creating an even greater challenge for you in this unforgiving world of roguelike survival.

Venture Into an Ever-Changing World

Beyond the fragile safety of your base lies an island that constantly evolves. With each failure, the landscape reshapes, creating new paths, concealing landmarks, and presenting fresh challenges. Despite its volatile nature, your efforts are not in vain. Successfully cleanse corrupted biomes and defeat ancient bosses that leaves behind sanctuaries, lasting beacons of light that endure through the resets. These sanctuaries serve as footholds, allowing you to venture deeper into treacherous new territories such as deserts scorched by false suns, frozen cliffs where even shadows freeze, and ultimately, the Heart of Darkness itself.

Be warned, the more territory you reclaim, the harder the island will try to reclaim what is yours.

Your journey begins with nothing but your bare hands and a flickering torch. As you progress, hunt for materials, craft tools and weapons, and construct shelter from the elements. Expand your capabilities from basic tools to musket fire, and build sanctuaries that radiate a light so powerful it pushes the darkness back. As you gather resources and unlock blueprints, your simple encampment grows into a heavily fortified haven, offering protection from the horrors that roam the island.

Each expedition is merely the beginning of your journey on Brightfall. The game remembers your progress and rewards you for every success. The knowledge you gain from the darkness translates into new skills, unique blueprints, and valuable insights that improve future runs. A Descent Into Shadow: Resist or Embrace the Madness

The longer you remain in the darkness, the more of your sanity turns. Linger too long in shadow and it whispers to you, stripping you of your thoughts and your name, taking everything from your humanity. Those who succumb entirely become Shadows, mindless hunters driven by the remnants of lost desires, and drawn to the warmth of those they once called allies.

Only your teammates can prevent the transformation - if they act fast enough! Pull your friend from the shadows or flee them before the darkness begins to wear their face.

• Hold the Light - Alone or Together - Brave the cursed island with 1-4 players that will scavenge and build while arguing over who forgot the tinder again.

• Venture into the Unknown - Cleanse corrupted biomes, conquer ancient bosses, and anchor new sanctuaries that endure between runs.

• Die, Learn, and Rise Again - Every failure feeds your knowledge. Unlock new blueprints, roles, and skills that persist across resets, becoming a stronger version of yourself as you fight against increasingly cruel odds.

• Resist or Embrace the Madness - The longer you linger in the dark, the more it calls to you. Save your friends from the abyss, or give in to it and pursue them as a hunter.
