How to Play

Pretend features two unique roles, each with distinct objectives. At the start of each game, players are randomly assigned a role and receive a role card detailing their abilities and goals.

Pretender Role

As a pretender sent by a rival software company, your mission is to sabotage the indie group and prevent their software release. Your goals are to:

• Eliminate the employees to cripple the company.
• Deceive others by feigning task completion and avoiding suspicion.
• Utilize the ventilation system for rapid, stealthy movement.
• Cause chaos through strategic sabotage.

Employee Role

As a dedicated employee, your main objective is to complete the software development by finishing tasks or to expose the pretender hidden among you. Your goals are to:

• Complete tasks to advance the software development and secure victory.
• Unmask the pretender through careful observation, analysis, and discussion.
• Utilize security cameras and other tools to gather evidence and expose the impostor.
• Engage in chat and vote to eliminate suspected pretenders.
• Maintain a healthy daily routine by eating and using the restroom.
