Game Modes

Paper Dungeons features four engaging single-player modes, each offering a distinct gameplay experience tailored to different playstyles:

• Boardgame Mode: Begin each dungeon as a fresh start in a sprawling adventure setting. While your character resets to level 1 with each new dungeon, you retain your cherished inventory. Explore the fog of war, strategically placed monsters and items, and engage in combat based on your stats and dice rolls. Mitigate the combat's outcome with a 2d6 system for damages and effects. Enhance your character by leveling up specific attributes. Unlock and collect a diverse range of dice sets (common/uncommon/rare/epic), but beware, monsters have their own dice too! An awareness system dictates monster movement based on your line of sight. Breach walls strategically to evade threats, at the expense of your health.
• Campaign Mode: Immerse yourself in a fully realized adventure spanning up to 10 interconnected dungeons. Experience a captivating narrative with introductions, dialogues, and a satisfying conclusion. Your character persists between dungeons, retaining both levels and inventory, ensuring a continuous sense of progression.
• Rogue Mode: Test your limits in a persistent character progression system. Your character continues to grow in strength between dungeons until their ultimate demise. Immortalize your achievements in the Hall of Fame and earn access to powerful dice sets for future Rogue runs.
• Puzzle Mode: Sharpen your strategic mind in these hardcore campaign levels where luck plays no part. No fog of war obscures your vision. The dungeon layout, including monster and item placement, is revealed. Plan your every move meticulously to secure victory in these challenging scenarios.
