Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Byzantium & Gaul Pack - Conquer and Cultivate Your Empire
Expand your empire and dominate the world with the Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Byzantium & Gaul Pack. This exciting DLC introduces two new civilizations, each with unique strengths and strategies for world domination. Lead the Byzantine Empire with Basil II, or command the Gallic horde with Ambiorix, and reshape history in this epic turn-based strategy game.
Requires Civilization VI to play. Some features of the Dramatic Ages game mode require the Civilization VI Expansion Bundle.
Lead the Byzantine Empire with Basil II
Unleash the power of Byzantium with Basil II at your command. Subjugate your enemies with a combination of religious fervor and military might. Key features include:
- Civ Unique Ability: Taxis. Bolster your forces! Units gain Combat Strength or Religious Strength for each Holy City converted to Byzantium's Religion. Byzantium's Religion spreads after victories, and Holy Sites generate bonus Great Prophet points, accelerating your religious dominance.
- Leader Unique Ability: Porphyrogénnētos. Basil's unique ability allows Heavy and Light Cavalry to deal full damage even against cities following Byzantium's religion. Plus, gain the powerful Tagma unit upon discovering the Divine Right civic.
- Unique Unit: Dromon. Replacing the Quadrireme, the Dromon boasts extended range and increased Combat Strength, giving you naval superiority in coastal warfare.
- Unique Unit: Tagma. Replacing the Knight, the Tagma provides adjacent land units with invaluable Combat Strength or Religious Strength, turning your army into an unstoppable force.
- Unique District: Hippodrome. A replacement for the Entertainment Complex, the Hippodrome is cheaper to build, provides extra Amenities, and even rewards you with a Heavy Cavalry unit upon completion.
Dominate as Gaul with Ambiorix
Embrace military flexibility and cultural prowess as the leader of Gaul, Ambiorix. Build a thriving empire fueled by culture and production with unique advantages:
- Civ Unique Ability: Hallstatt Culture. Mines provide minor adjacency bonuses for districts and trigger a Culture Bomb when founded, claiming surrounding territory and providing bonus Culture. Specialize without constraint, since specialty districts cannot be built next to the City Center and don't receive adjacency from other districts.
- Leader Unique Ability: King of the Eburones. Ambiorix grants bonus Culture based on unit cost whenever a non-civilian unit is trained, accelerating your cultural progression. Plus, your melee, anti-cavalry, and ranged units gain additional Combat Strength per adjacent combat unit.
- Unique Unit: Gaesatae. Replacing the Warrior, the Gaesatae is more expensive but gains bonus Combat Strength when fighting stronger units or defending against district defenses, making them formidable early-game fighters.
- Unique District: Oppidum. Available sooner and cheaper than the Industrial Zone, the Oppidum unlocks the Apprenticeship technology immediately. This defensible industrial zone provides its own ranged attack and benefits from major adjacency bonuses from Quarries and strategic resources, providing a strategic advantage to your game's production.
New "Dramatic Ages" Game Mode (Requires Civilization VI Expansion Bundle)
Experience a thrilling twist on history with the Dramatic Ages game mode, which introduces unique rule changes. The core elements involve:
- A Dynamic New Era: Say goodbye to Normal Ages! Civilizations now always transition into either a Dark Age or a Golden Age each era, drastically changing the course of the game.
- Powerful New Policies: Replace Dedications with powerful Social Policies, including new and updated Golden Policies and Dark Policies.
- Golden Age Supremacy: Push your Golden Age to new heights, exerting Loyalty pressure on nearby civilizations.
- Dark Age Rebellions: Navigate the chaos of Dark Ages as disgruntled cities potentially rebel and fall under your control!
- Re-Engineered Era Score: Earn Era Score in new ways by completing Technologies or Civics and promoting units through combat, enhancing every element of civilization building.
New World Wonders
- Biosphere: Intensifies the appeal of Marsh and Rainforest tiles. In the Gathering Storm expansion, it provides more Power and Tourism. In other rulesets, it grants bonus Science for every Marsh, Rainforest, or Woods in the city that built it.
- Statue of Zeus: Provides free military units to the owning city and increases Production toward anti-cavalry units.
New Map Script
- The Highlands: Dominate a unique landscape with a large, rugged region defined by hills and majestic mountain ranges, offering new strategic challenges and opportunities.
