Innovative Combat Mechanics

Aces Wild boasts a free-form combat system that feels amazing, is fun for new players, and boasts considerable depth for hardcore and stylish players. Here's a breakdown of the key mechanics:

Unleash the Wild System

As you engage in combat, your Wild Meter will surge. This empowers your attacks with increased damage but also amplifies the aggressiveness of your enemies. Striking opponents builds Wild, while taking damage diminishes it. A skilled fighter will learn to harness Wild for an advantage, then strategically expend it to maintain control before the enemy can exploit it.

Rapid Attack: Swift Combinations

Rapid Attacks empower you to soar through the air, executing lightning-fast combo attacks against your foes! These attacks rapidly fill your Wild Meter. The faster you fly, the more Wild you generate. Defeating an enemy with a Rapid Attack grants even more Wild.

Crash Attack: Devastating Power

Crash Attacks unleash massive damage, sending enemies flying and bouncing off the environment! They receive a significant damage enhancement from your Wild Meter. Each Crash Attack possesses unique properties and consumes Wild upon execution. Some even feature special effects, allowing you to hurl the environment and enemies into each other.

Enemies struck by a Crash Attack will take increased damage and yield more Wild with subsequent attacks.

Crash Charge: Maximize Impact

By holding the Crash Attack button, you can expend Wild Meter to Charge the Crash Attack, amplifying its size and power. Damage from these attacks becomes ridiculously high. You have free-form movement while Charging a Crash Attack.

Dash: Master Evasion

Dashing lets you traverse in any direction, very quickly. You can extend the duration of a Dash by holding the button. Holding no direction while Dashing executes a Homing Dash. Use precise movement combined with Dashes to outmaneuver your foes.

Dodge: Embrace Invincibility

Dodging grants you invincibility, allowing you to evade enemy attacks. It's the most essential skill, and you'll be using it frequently! A successful Dodge extends your invincibility, allowing you to attack unrestrained. If you Dash out of a successful Dodge, you retain invincibility.

Wild Counter: Perfect Reversal

By pressing and holding the Dodge button and performing a successful Dodge, then pressing Rapid or Crash attack, you will execute a Wild Counter! There's a unique skill for each attack type: Rapid Counter and Crash Counter. Wild Counters are formidable skills with diverse effects.

Panic Attack: Desperate Measures

If your Wild Meter surpasses the Panic Threshold, you can unleash a Panic Attack. This expends all your Wild but restores your Health, granting invincibility and knocking enemies away. Use this if things get too intense or if your Wild gets out of control.

Panic attacks also increase the Panic Threshold and resets your Rank.

Rank: Show Off Your Skill

Rank is a measure of your combat prowess. As you attack and defeat enemies, your Rank increases. Taking damage significantly lowers it. Rank is similar to Wild in that it also makes enemies stronger and more aggressive, but with more extreme effects.

However, Rank is much more difficult to maintain at a high level. Rank increases the Score you receive from attacking and defeating enemies. Rank also increases the rate at which you build Wild Meter.

Scoring: Maximize Your Tally

Each time you strike or defeat an enemy, you earn Score based on the damage you inflict. This is multiplied by the enemy type and your current Rank. Score earned from damage is slightly exponential, so a 20-damage attack is worth more than two 10-damage attacks.

You receive a percent bonus to your score for a Stage based on how quickly you cleared the Stage.

Pinata: Bonus Enemies!

Certain enemies will have violet smoke emanating from them. When defeated, they will explode into BONUS NINJAS. Bonus Ninjas are large swarms of aggressive enemies. It is your chance to boost your score or totally ruin your Wild and Rank.

A hidden 'Pinata Meter' increases based on your Rank when you defeat regular enemies. This will also yield Bonus Ninjas from regular enemies. The amount of Bonus Ninjas you receive is based on your Rank, Wild and strength of attack.
