How to Play Karanos Solitaire

You can enjoy this solitaire card game with your own deck! Here’s how:

Goal: Your aim is to remove all cards by creating high-scoring combinations. Beat 40 point or more to prove your prowess!

Setup:

Remove all face cards (Jack, Queen, King) leaving only Aces and numbered cards for a total of 40 cards.

Shuffle, and display the top three cards next to the deck. These will become your initial "bottom row".

Available Actions:

• Move a Card: Take a card from the 'bottom row' and place it in the 'top row', replacing it with a card from the draw pile/deck. If there is only one card left in the deck flip it over and place it on the bottom row.
• Recycle a Card: Move a card from the 'top row' to the back of the deck.
• Combo Removal: Remove qualifying 'top row' cards based on valid combos (listed below) to score points.
• Single Card Removal: Discard a single card from the 'top row' at the cost of -1 points.

Combos and Points:

Combine the top row cards into the following combos to gain points as denoted below when removing cards from the game:

• Pair: [A+A] or [2+2] or [3+3]... - 2 points
• Chain: [1+2+3] or [2+3+4] .. or [9+10+A] or [10+A+2] - 3 points
• Flush: Any 3 cards of the same suit - 3 points
• Royal: Both Chain (in sequence) and Flush (all same suit cards) – 7 points
• Triple: [A+A+A] or [2+2+2] or [3+3+3]... – 8 points

Penalties and Bonuses:

• Single Card Removal Penalty: -1 point for each single card removed from the top row.
• Clear the Deck Bonus: + 11 points for removing all the cards from the deck as a part of a combo.
