Manacaster's rules and keywords are designed for simplicity, but don't mistake simplicity for shallowness. Chain together keywords like Rally, Focus, Twinstrike, and Heavy to unlock complex strategies and create powerful combinations.

We've tweaked traditional card-battle rules to minimize randomness and maximize player agency. Every rule change is implemented to create a more enjoyable and skill-based experience.

Life Points as a Resource

In Manacaster, life points are more than just a health bar – they're a valuable resource. Spend life to unlock special abilities and reduce the mana cost of your Action cards. It's all about risk and reward.

Standalone Mana Deck

Strategically choose your mana card each turn. Single-color mana is immediately available, while dual-color and triple-color mana require a life point investment to untap immediately. Build your mana deck before the game to ensure you can deploy your Units and Actions on-curve.

Opening Hand Draft (Mulligan System)

Receive 14 cards from your deck and select your opening hand of 7. Keep up to 8 cards. No more mulligans to oblivion – you'll always start with at least 7 cards in hand, every game.

Adventure Mode: Explore the City Map

Venture through the city map, selecting from six Elemental nodes, each offering opponents with decks themed around that element. Conquer Elemental nodes to unlock more challenging Hybrid nodes, representing fusions of two elements. Clear Level 1 Hybrid nodes to unlock Level 2 nodes, or "backdoor" into Level 2 nodes for an extra challenge and the chance to unlock the best Equipment.

PVP: Challenge a Player

Experience the thrill of the Arena. World-champion caliber players have lauded Manacaster as "the most balanced card game they've ever played." – where games can be decided by a single life point, a single mana, or a single card. All tournament-legal cards are unlocked in PVP mode from day one, so there's no grinding required to compete. Prove your superiority and enter the Arena.

Two Ways to Build a Deck

Choose your preferred Deck Construction method for each challenge. Your opponent follows the same rules, and the rewards may vary depending on the selected mode.

Constructed Mode: Craft a deck with 50 unique Units and/or Actions and 13 Mana cards. This classic "build-then-battle" mode allows you to showcase your deckbuilding skills against other players. Compete on the ranked ladder to prove your mastery.

Draft Mode: Experience a dynamic deckbuilding challenge! Build your deck card-by-card while strategically denying your opponent the cards they need. This modified snake-draft pick sequence creates high-tension moments, and you can "Burn" cards for a random reward. Draft Mode also supports ranked ladder play.
