Step into the role of Roq Epimetheos, an accidental hero with a love for music and a penchant for partying. Cruise through the galaxy aboard the Songbringer with your trusty skybot companion, Jib, in search of peaceful planets, far from the galactic police.

Fate takes a turn when Roq discovers the nanosword hidden within a cave on Ekzera. Unwittingly, he awakens an ancient evil. But the sword? It's incredibly powerful and emits a captivating hum, a key to unlocking the secrets of the universe.

Jib, the Indispensable Skybot

Born as a human named Jib on the skycity planet Yuerder, he transitioned from artificially intelligent programing into becoming a skybot, preserving his consciousness and forging an unbreakable link.

Jib plays a vital role, scanning fallen foes to uncover valuable loot and can also stun enemies. He is controlled by advanced AI in solo gameplay, or a second player can join the adventure as Jib in thrilling local co-op mode.

Adding a touch of humor, Jib harbors a peculiar obsession with mustaches, a quirk he never got to experience in his human form.

Procedurally-Generated Worlds Await

At the start of your quest, you'll input a 6-letter world seed. This seed acts as the foundation, procedurally generating the entire planet, including its overworld, hidden secrets, and challenging dungeons. Every playthrough is unique in this roguelike experience.

But here's the catch: entering the same world seed will always recreate the same world, regardless of your platform. Share lore, strategies, and engage in friendly speedrun competitions with other players.

Dare to explore the unknown with a new seed, or master a familiar one for the ultimate speed run. The choice is yours!

Open World Exploration

The procedurally-generated overworld is an expansive open world, inviting you to explore in any direction. Tackle dungeons in your preferred order or even disregard the sword altogether, reshaping your destiny as a sandbox RPG experience.

Each world potentially holds nine dungeons, each with its own characteristics:

• Some dungeons act as the main progression, with puzzles and important items.
• There are also secret dungeons that may contain special abilities.
• And, some dungeons are very challenging, with difficult bosses.

Uncover the Secrets of the Cacti

Hidden treasures and concealed pathways lie waiting to be discovered. By consuming cacti, Roq gains powerful psychedelic abilities, allowing him to perceive the secrets hidden in plain sight, adding a layer of puzzle-solving to the gameplay.

Combine certain items to craft distinct artifacts. For example, merge a blink orb with a fire cube at the droidsmith aboard Songbringer to create a fire orb, granting Roq the ability to teleport forward as a fireball.

Songbringer eschews traditional experience points. Progression is achieved by defeating enemies, conquering bosses, and acquiring lost technological devices.

Global Leaderboard

Upon completing your quest, various factors are calculated to produce an overall score:

• Completion time.
• Percentage of map uncovered.
• Percentage of items obtained.
• Game mode: Regular or permadeath.

Your score can be uploaded to a global leaderboard, sorted by world seed. This leaderboard dynamically displays popular and fresh seeds, but you can also manually select a specific seed to view its rankings and demonstrate your RPG skill.
