Empires of the Indus introduces three powerful new playable nations, each offering unique challenges and strategic opportunities:

• The Mauryas: Rule the vast Mauryan Empire, led by iconic figures like Chandragupta and Ashoka. Utilize powerful Assault Elephants and Armored Elephants in your military campaigns. Advance your empire's influence for millennia to come. Choose one of six dynastic families or embrace spirituality, establishing Buddhism as a new World Religion centered around the majestic Mahabodhi Temple. Use a unique city project to spread Buddhism globally and gain advantages in legitimacy and civics.

• The Yuezhi: Unite the nomadic tribes under the banner of the Kushan Empire. As mighty horse lords, use the unique Vassalize Tribe mission to forge alliances through intimidation. The Mauryans can establish Buddhism as an organized World Religion, or others can follow suit once four global Theologies exist and enact a Philosopy law.
